Boundless Flight’s corporate office is located less than a mile away from this fabulous, family owned,  deli on Detroit Rd in Rocky River.  After frequenting their establishment for years, we happened upon their wine tasting event.

The first wine tasting event we attended, produced ONE other person – for a total of 3 people in February of ’09.  Knowing how fantastic Martin’s Deli roasted chicken dinners are and their salads and sandwiches we’ve been eating for years – we knew it had to be a fluke.  The weather was inclement, and there had to be a better reason only one other person showed up to attend with the two others from Boundless Flight.

The following month, March ’09, yielded only one  additional wine taster for a total of F-O-U-R!

“Unbelievable!” we said to them.   “It makes no sense.  You have excellent food, a huge selection of beverages and grocery items, the freshest deli meats, rotisserie chicken dinners, lunch specials, etc… why is no one coming for the wine tastings?”

The answer was simple.  “No one knows about it” he said.

That was all Boundless Flight needed to start a win-win situation.  We had a cause:

1. Wake-up the local community by telling them about a small, family operated, phenomenal establishment with quality foods and this fun event!

2.  Help support local business.  It’s these local businesses that stay in the community, are involved in the community and have helped make Rocky River what it is today.

The first month we set up a Martins Deli Facebook Group and started promoting it to our friends and existing network by sending them to Facebook.  We saw April ’09 produce at least 15 people for the wine

tasting event – an increase of over 300% – success!

But we weren’t satisfied.  We wanted more.  We saw more potential.  So, we started a Martin’s Deli Twitter account, continued with the Facebook efforts and began promoting the wine tastings through LinkedIn.

By the following month our efforts were yielding over 20 attendees.
